DAY TOURS 2008 (page 1) Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park £29/person 7hrs The spectacular scenery of this area has inspired writers, poets and artists for centuries. Whether your interest is in scenery, history or wildlife you will find it here in abundance. Come with us and stroll by the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, walk in the footsteps of Rob Roy McGregor, hear about the Highland Clan System, early settlers, raiders and invaders. On the return journey we stop at Doune Castle, the setting for Monty Pythons ‘The Holy Grail’ and the BBC production of ‘Ivanhoe’. This is a very popular tour and is an excellent introduction to Scotlands history and scenery. It operates regularly from Stirling in summer. . Highland Glens £32/person 8hrs Our route takes us via Crieff and the Sma Glen to Aberfeldy. We then travel the length of Loch Tay viewing a number of interesting sites including the alleged birthplace of Pontius Pilate, a Crannog, and the oldest tree in Europe. On reaching Killin we stop to see the Falls of Dochart which run through this picturesque Highland village. We return to Stirling via Glen Dochart, Glen Ogle and Balquhidder Glen where Rob Roy McGregor spent the last years of his life. Edinburgh via The Famous Forth Bridges £32/person 8hrs We follow the River Forth on route to South Queensferry where we stop to view the Forth Bridges and the Hawes Inn, one of the settings for the novel 'Kidnapped ' by Robert Louis Stevenson. We then carry on for a tour of our Capital City where time is allowed to stroll down the famous Royal Mile, shop or visit the castle. Returning home in the late afternoon we stop at Linlithgow Palace the birthplace of Mary 'Queen of Scots'.
St Andrews & Fife Fishing Villages £34/person 8hrs We travel through the farmlands of central Fife to St Andrews. We have a lengthy stop in this historic town where you can visit Scotlands oldest University (1410), the Castle or those famous golf courses. We return via the picturesque fishing villages of Crail, Anstruther and Elie. Most day tours require a minimum of 3 persons from Stirling or a supplement may be charged. We would be happy to personalise a tour to your requirements. Tours are available all year. Tour prices are in UK pounds and for transport only.
